One of our party chose a veal chop from the menu and we saw this being taken out to the BBQ also.
It's only a small place, about 10 tables, and run by a delightful older couple.
If you can make the effort with a bit of Portuguese you will see how they genuinely take pride in the enjoyment you get from your lunch.
It is only open 12-15:00, not in the evenings.

Might be the best fish I ever had ! Careful when arriving, number of places is limited so you may be asked to come back in half an hour but it is definitely worth it. We took the Dorade and Robalo and both were exquisite. The price is also affordable, there were no menu pictures available so I added some in the review.

A nice place in the small city. My grilled fish (pargo) was great. My wife's grilled beef was succulent and tasty. Delicious! Strongly recommended!

Found this gem today and loved it. Wholesome and simple good food. Frequented by locals. We also loved their desserts (esp. the almond cake) The owner speaks english, friendly and helped us a lot when choosing from the menu.

Wow! What a gem. Fish was top notch, fresh and perfectly prepared on grill. Host was gracious and guests invited us to join in birthday celebration for owner. This is why we love Portugal. Friendliest people and outstanding food quality. 😋😋

Really friendly people - owners - they agreed to cook for us after 3 PM so after they close the place - rest of places didn't wanted to talk to me and sell us any food.
The owner speaks fluent english, big plus for them since not all people (Staff) in restaurants do,
Plus he pointed me directions to start the trail.

Le patron et la patronne sont incroyablement gentils, ce qui rend l’accueil encore plus chaleureux. La nourriture, quant à elle, est exceptionnelle. C’est sans aucun doute l’un des meilleurs poissons que j’ai mangé de ma vie, préparé de manière simple mais avec une saveur incroyable. Cette petite affaire artisanale est vraiment incontournable dans le secteur. Je recommande vivement à tous les amateurs de poisson de s’y arrêter.Tradução
We discovered a fish restaurant that's definitely worth a visit. The fish is prepared on the barbecue right in front of the restaurant, which adds an authentic and very pleasant touch to the experience. The owner and his wife are incredibly kind, which makes the welcome even warmer. The food, meanwhile, is exceptional. It's without a doubt one of the best fish I've ever eaten in my life, prepared simply but with incredible flavor. This small, artisanal business is truly a must-visit in the area. I highly recommend stopping by for all fish lovers.

Lugar genuino de los que ya cada vez quedan menos. El local es pequeño pero muy agradable. Pescado fresco del día al carbón que te van ofreciendo según les queda. También tienen carnes muy buenas. Comimos lubina, gallinetas y presa y todo excelente. Las raciones son abundantes a un precio inmejorable. Además el dueño es muy amable y servicial.

An authentic place, one of those that are becoming fewer and fewer. The place is small but very pleasant. Fresh fish of the day is grilled and served as needed. They also have excellent meats. We had sea bass, redfish, and porgy, and everything was excellent. The portions are generous at an unbeatable price. The owner is also very friendly and helpful.

El trato por parte de ellos es muy cercano y siempre atentos a que todo esté al gusto del cliente.
El Bife de la casa y el Robalo (lubina) estaban increíbles y a un precio inigualable, ambos hechos en brasas de carbón.Tradução
If you want to enjoy typical Portuguese food, freshly prepared and with an incredible value for money, I definitely recommend this small restaurant run by an elderly Portuguese couple. Their service is very friendly and they are always attentive to ensuring everything is to the customer's liking. The house steak and the sea bass were incredible and at an unbeatable price, both cooked over charcoal embers.
